That all went rather well, didn’t it?

Fantastic! Splendid! Very successful! Wonderful! Resounding Success! Extremely good value! Long may it continue!

Just a few of the comments received since the “party” all the comments suggest that there will be enough interest to hold another.

It was mentioned that some may be interested to know about a book available on Amazon The Rise and Fall of Great Companies: Courtaulds and the Reshaping of the Man-Made Fibres Industry (Pasold Studies in Textile History) Geoffrey Owen (Author) Click on Information above for the review.

Thank you to everyone who has sent messages of thanks and encouragement, it was a great pleasure and indeed all made very worthwhile when everyone arrived. A special thank you to Heather Nash who travelled all the way from Canberra, Australia to be with us.

Today’s the Day!

With only hours to go just time for a quick update.

The list of attendees are the colleagues who have said they will be coming, so you should see them this afternoon/evening. As you can see from the list there are around 60 people. The interest has been amazing.

One or two people have said they can’t come for one reason or another and would like to be remembered to everyone they are:
Carol Felton
Alex Twentyman
Ann Bowes
Franco Martinelli
Sara Innell
Julia Beavons (nee Burrows)
David Honour
Donald Anderson
David Brief
Gill Leates
Helen Bates
Paul Hendrick
Alison Siddons

Each one has said sorry they can’t be with us, good luck for the reunion and all have expressed their wish to be kept up-to-date with any future event.

Courtaulds plc – Grand London Reunion – Gentle Reminder

Dear Colleague

We’ve had such a wonderful response and so many encouraging words of support for this occasion. Thank you!

As there are only a few more days before the Reunion, we’d just like to thank all those who have paid their £15.00 for the event, those of you who haven’t yet paid could they do so this week, as we really don’t want to be collecting money on the night.

If you have to pay on the evening could you please let us know, so far three people have, so that we can arrange to pay on your behalf. Once you have made this committment you will be expected to pay cash on arrival to either Caron or Paul as one of us will have made that payment in advance. (Unfortunately there is no company subsidy anymore.)

If you want to add any colleagues to the list please let me know their e-mail address. The jungle drums are obviously beating and we’ve had news from people in far flung places, asking about the reunion and wishing us well. As some of you will know even members of staff making the journey from Australia just to be with us.

On a sadder note we have just received news that David Stevens passed away on 14 January.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the night.

Paul Ash & Caron Dunkley.

The Auberge offer a selection of food platters, which you can see the content at their website. We’ve provisionally ordered a selection of buffet food and wine, which we sampled and found to be ok. The cost to everyone will be £15.00 per head, non-returnable, once we’ve confirmed the numbers to the restaurant in early January. You may transfer the money to my PayPal account or send a cheque to me, or bank transfer please contact me so that I can provide the details. There will be the opportunity to open a personal bar tab on the evening. Some of you have indicated that you may not be able to make a decision to come until nearer the time, therefore would like to pay on the evening, this will be possible, please be mindful that either Caron or I will have made a payment on your behalf once you have decided to come.

You will all have received some login details for the website set-up specifically for us www.excourtaulds.com, I do hope you will venture on to the site and update your details and if you want add a photo or two. (You don’t have to.) Although your e-mail details are on the site they are not visible, so please don’t worry about spam or unwanted contacts. The only people you will receive a message from are other Courtaulds plc staff who have registered, via me; If you need any help with the site let me know. It’s there for you.

I look forward very much to seeing you all on the night, thank you for all your encouraging remarks and good wishes.

Best Wishes for the New Year.
